2004 April: Founded in Takatsuki, Osaka, at Director Okada’s grandmother’s home
2007 October: Selected for the Osaka Regional Creation Fund Mishima Regional Support Project Subsidy, developed the first solid-state laser (ultra-compact nanosecond pulsed laser) in company history
2008 April: Selected for NEDO’s 1st Research and Development Venture Technical Development Grant Project, made the LVE-G0300 (wavelength: 532nm) feasible for the thin-film photovoltaic industry
2009 May: Successfully demonstrated a picosecond pulsed seed laser using the LD-GS method in cooperation with Osaka University.
2010 June: Selected for NEDO’s 2010 Research and Development Venture Technical Development Grant Project, developed the world’s first LD-GS high-power picosecond pulsed fiber laser and applied it to develop a high-power supercontinuum light source with a wavelength of 450 to 2,500 nm. January: Won the 2010 LVE-G0300 Kansai Front Runner Award
2012 March: Selected for the 2012 Global Technology Joint and Startup Support Grant (Startup Category), developed the world’s first 266 nm picosecond pulsed laser (3 W output).
2014
  • Third-party allocation of shares by Mitsuboshi Diamond Industrial, Co., Ltd. twice in August 2013 and January 2014, totaling ¥200 million.
  • April: Selected for NEDO’s 2014 Innovation Application Venture Support Project, successfully developed technology to extend the life of the 266 nm picosecond laser (more than 8,000 hours).

2016 July: Launched development of a 266nm picosecond laser with average output exceeding 50 W, adopted as part of a national project of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) to develop next-generation laser technology featuring high brightness and high efficiency.
  • January: Received the Chairman’s Award at the 13th New Machine Promotion Awards, an award system by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Machine Industry, for the LDH-XO300, a DUV picosecond laser with the highest output in the world.
  • April: Received the Industrial Award from the Laser Society of Japan for the LDH Series picosecond hybrid laser.
2017 June: Third-party allocation of shares to Mitsubishi Electric Corporation totaling ¥500 million
2018 June: Received the Laser Society of Japan Achievement Award (Best Paper Award), and the high-power DUV picosecond laser developed by Spectronix is recognized for its originality and creativity in the Original Category of the Laser Society of Japan and receives certification from the Society for developing unique technology that steps into unknown territory.
2019
  • June: World’s first continuous operation of a 10 W 266 nm picosecond laser
  • August: Achieved 50 W output with a 266 nm picosecond laser with a pulse width of less than 15 ps
December: Received the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Award at the 8th Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award in the Product & Technology Development Category for our 266 nm picosecond laser (10 W output).
2020
  • August: Third-party allocation of shares by the Innovation Platform for the University of Tokyo totaling ¥300 million
  • March: Official release of the LDH-X0800, a 266 nm picosecond laser with 8 W output.
May: A paper on our DUV picosecond laser research is published in Optics Letters by the Optical Society of America
2021
  • April: To strengthen management structure, Yukihiko Nagaoka is appointed as President, and Okada, as a director and founder, is placed in charge of new business development, including the 266 nm picosecond laser.
